Research Library

The beginning of the LNMH Research Library can be traced back to 1920 when the State (Latvian) Ethnographic Museum started its work in Riga Castle, and a collection of books in various research fields began to form.

Currently, the LNMH library serves as its internal structure, which supports the scientific pursuits of Museum specialists by collecting scientific literature in archaeology, ethnography, numismatics, art history and Latvian history and providing the Museum staff with the information resources for their work.

Head of library Anita Saukane

The Research Library is located in the Museum Storage at Pulka iela 8, Riga.

Anyone can become a library user by sending a written application. The printed materials will be available for viewing only in the library’s reading room.
