The Great Northern War in the Baltics (1700–1721)
This exhibition is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the end of the most ambitious military conflict between the Baltic Sea powers in the early 18th century, which radically changed the geopolitical situation in Northern Europe for centuries, while the events of the war directly affected the lives of everyone in the Baltic region, including in Latvia.
It highlights the military-political nature of the Great Northern War, and at the same time shows that, 300 years ago, the dramatic events of the war (battles, sieges, massive devastation in the countryside, and plague epidemics) took place very close by – in Spilve Meadows, Daugavgrīva Fortress and the Riga suburbs, near Jēkabpils, Mūrmuiža, Blome, Rauna, in almost every Latvian parish and town. The rich visual material offers the opportunity to “time travel” and for the first time in one place to see the historical landscape of Riga and other Latvian sites in 18th century engravings, as well as to compare the locations shown in old battle scenes with the present day.

The exhibition consists of 12 stands.
The exhibition is intended to be displayed outdoors.
Transport
The exhibition commissioning body provides transport for the exhibition and museum specialist to/from the exhibition site.
The exhibition can fit in a van.
Reservation
At least 1 week before the exhibition data with a signed contract and sent invoice.
For special dates (national holidays in November and May, barricade days in January), exhibitions are booked approximately half a year in advance.
