10 Questions to the Voter. 1920–1990–2020

10 Questions to the Voter. 1920–1990–2020

This exhibition is designed to answer 10 important questions about Latvian democracy and its history.

The main means of expression chosen for this exhibition is the political cartoon – a genre that flourished particularly in democratic Latvia in the 1920s and was freely revived again after 1990. For the first time, the exhibition presents a part of the museum’s unique collection of inter-war cartoons (216 drawings in total, including works by Sergejs Civinskis, Indriķis Zeberiņš, Kārlis Krauze, Oto Skulme, Sigismunds Vidbergs and others), as well as drawings by contemporary Latvian cartoon masters Gatis Šļūka and Zemgus Zaharāns. The cartoons are accompanied by party campaign  posters from both eras, historical photographs, and infographics.
